September 9, 2024
5:30 pm · 7:00pm
Pleasant Grove is a large property owned and stewarded by a group of community members from Grinnell. It's a great place to see native plants and wildlife just south and east of Barnes City. We'll talk with Sandy Moffett, one of the community members who was instrumental in preserving this special place, and hike in to see the flowers that are in bloom. As we walk we'll discuss how to protect and care for Iowa's ecosystems.
We will hike about a half a mile into the prairie, and there will be an option to hike up to 2 miles, much of which will be on a mowed path, and we'll be going slowly. However, when we step off the path into the prairies there will be uneven terrain. Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes or boots.
Call Amy at 319-213-5607 to RSVP at least 3 hours before the event. She will give you directions to our meeting place when you RSVP.
