Dispatcher/Jailer
This position requires 12-hour shift work, rotating weekends and holidays, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Job duties include receiving emergency 911 calls from the public and dispatching emergency services as necessary and rotating shifts in the county jail facility working directly with persons incarcerated. Successful applicants should possess strong communication and computer skills.
Benefits include a starting wage of $21.38 per hour with increases every six months for the first two years topping out at $24.73, IPERS Special Service class retirement plan, full health and dental insurance, and paid vacation and holidays. (NOTE: Effective July 1st of each year the hourly rates, and six-month increases are subject to increases based on the Union Contract).
