Mark Vavroch
Mark has been a full-time employee since April 1987. He began his employment with the Board as a park ranger and later was hired as director in 1990. Mark is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the County Conservation Department, as well as, preparing budgets, making recommendations to the Board, writing grants, and helping maintain and develop all county areas. Mark received a B.S. in Forestry with an emphasis in Outdoor Recreation from Iowa State University. Mark and his family enjoy watching school athletic events, watching college football, fishing, and walking Bella (their lab).
Daniel Schreur
Daniel started with Poweshiek County in April of 2022. He is an alumnus of Dordt University with a degree in Environmental Science and Biology. Daniel is responsible for the maintenance and development of Diamond Lake Park and the wildlife areas managed by the county. When he isn’t working, Daniel enjoys hiking, backpacking, fishing, game nights, and spending time with his friends and family.
Amy Andrews
Amy started with Poweshiek County in March of 2020. She provides environmental education to children and adults throughout the county, in school and community settings. Contact her if you would like her to present to your group! Amy is a proud alumna of Central College with a degree in Communication Studies and Environmental Science. In her free time, she enjoys exploring prairies and woodlands, game nights, reading, doing craft projects, and attempting to garden.
