General Assistance
General Assistance is a county-funded program that can help with emergency financial needs including:
- Current rent
- Current utility monthly usage including water, electric, or gas
- Non-psych prescriptions of up to $100 in a one-month period
- Burial/cremation assistance
All funding approved through General Assistance will be paid directly to the vendor or landlord.
All funding must go to Poweshiek County approved associates.
